Term Thursday (2017-27)

Verse of the Day
"Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness." - Psalms 97:12

Today's Theological Term
"Baptists - Used since the earliest days of the Protestant Reformation, the term identifies those believers who trace their heritage and doctrine to apostolic times and which, therefore, antedate Romanism and Protestantism.  Those beliefs which have identified Baptists throughout the ages include the absolute authority and inerrancy of the Scriptures, believer's baptism and baptism by immersion only, regenerate church membership, priesthood of the believer, religious liberty, church-state separation, and the autonomy of the local church.  Baptists are to be distinguished from Protestants."*
