"CHRISTIAN - One who has recognized Jesus Christ as Deity and the only Savior from sin and has, by faith alone, trusted upon Christ to save him.  This act of heart-trust (faith) in Christ appropriates the gift of salvation.  At the moment of salvation (conversion) God declares the believer innocent of transgression (justification) and causes the Holy Spirit to give him a new heart (regeneration).  Christ calls this salvation experience being "born again" (John 3:3). No man is a Christian who has not been born again (John 3:7)."*
