Want Some Good News?

THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST IS GOOD NEWS!
What is the gospel of Jesus Christ?
Gospel simply means, Good news!  The “Good news” of Jesus Christ is that Jesus paid the penalty for our sins with His own life and blood!
What is the penalty for our sins?
The Bible says in Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is DEATH”. The Bible is not only speaking of physical death but SPIRITUAL DEATH as well.  The Bible also says in Romans 3:23  “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”  This puts us ALL in the same situation, Sinners who deserve punishment!  Sin is as the Bible says, any time we “come short” of the glory of God. You have to agree that this is a daily occurrence!  If we sin just a meager 3 times a day that means that at the end of every year we have over 1000 sins to pay for!  The wages for those unpaid for sins is SPIRITUAL DEATH!
What is Spiritual Death?
The Bible says that those who die in their sins are forever separated from God in a place of eternal   torment called “The lake of fire”. Revelation 20:14 says, “And death and Hell were cast into the LAKE OF FIRE. This is the SECOND DEATH.”
How can you avoid an eternity in THE LAKE OF FIRE?
Only ONE way, and that is the Good news of Jesus Christ!  The Bible says in 1 Timothy 1:15, “that Christ Jesus came into the world to SAVE SINNERS”!  That means all of us!  Christ came to save you—if you’ll let Him.
What did Jesus do to save us?
First the Bible says that Jesus was God’s Virgin born Son, fully man, and fully God, and without sin!  2Corinthians 5:21 says that Jesus “knew no sin,” and in John 1:29 Jesus is called “ The Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”  Jesus lived a perfect sinless life and then was falsely accused and put to death on a cruel Roman Cross.  But Jesus went to His death WILLINGLY!  When He was suffering on the Cross He was paying the penalty for your sin.  He was dying in your place.  Jesus was a sacrifice for you.    In order for your sins to be forgiven, God required a perfect sinless sacrifice.  The only One who could meet those requirements was God Himself, Jesus Christ!  Listen to what the Bible says about Jesus in 1 Peter 2:24. “ Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness.”  Jesus died in your place so that you could be forgiven and cleansed of your sin and have a Home forever in Heaven.  The Bible says that to prove what He said was true, that after 3 days Jesus rose from the dead!  Jesus has power over life and death!
How do you get forgiveness and an eternal Home in Heaven?
The Bible says in Romans 6:23,    “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is ETERNAL LIFE through Jesus Christ our Lord.”  God offers you the gift of Eternal Life.  Jesus already paid the price on the Cross.  God wants you to simply trust Him to save you from the penalty for your sins.  Salvation is through Jesus, as a free gift, not our own works or our own efforts.  The Bible says in Ephesians 2:8,9  “ For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.”
How do you receive God’s gift of forgiveness and salvation?
The Bible says in Romans 10: 9,  “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”  Also Romans 10:13 says, “For whosoever shall call upon   the name of the Lord shall be saved. “ God has already finished His work in your salvation, Jesus finished His work on the Cross, your sins are paid for, you can be saved, IF you will accept by faith Gods gift of Eternal Salvation. Gods work is complete.  Will you simply trust God to save you through Jesus’ finished work on the Cross?  Can you see yourself as a sinner that needs God to save you?  Can you see your life as God sees it?  Romans 3:10 says, ”There is none righteous, no, not one.” God will save you and change your life IF you’ll let Him.
ARE YOU WILLING TO CALL ON GOD RIGHT NOW TO SAVE YOU?  Then pray and ask God to save you. Use your own words, or pray something like this: Dear God:  I know that I am a sinner, because of my sins I know that I deserve an eternity in Hell.  I believe that Jesus was the Son of God and that He died in my place for my sins.  I believe that to prove what He said was true that Jesus rose from the dead on the third day. I trust Jesus and His work on the Cross to save me.  Please forgive my sins and save me, Change my life and help me to live for you.  Help me to be a good Christian.  Thank you for saving me.  In Jesus’ name, Amen. If you prayed in faith, trusting Christ to save you, the Bible says in Romans 5:1,  “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
If you have asked Jesus to save you, you have just begun an incredible journey of faith!  God not only wants to save you, He wants to show you from The Bible how to live a truly Happy life. God also wants you to share this “ good news” with your friends and family. God’s way of helping us to “grow” in our faith is simple:
1.       Read your Bible every day.  We recommend the King James Version.
2.       Pray often to ask God’s help with problems and ask often for his guidance.
3.       Find a good Bible believing, Bible preaching church.  Don’t leave this out!  A good church will help you understand the Bible, and mature as a Christian.
4.       Be baptized as soon as possible.  This publicly shows everyone that you asked God to save you and that you are not ashamed of what Jesus did for you.
5.       Get involved in your church and in spreading the “good news”.
